What is massage therapy?


Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

What to expect on your first visit.


On the first visit you will complete a confidential health history as part of your assessment. We need to know if you have any medical conditions or are taking any medications.We will listen to your concerns, assess your individual needs as well as other factors that may be contributing to your injury (lifestyle, nutritional status, etc.) and then develop a treatment plan with you to ensure you receive appropriate treatment. We will also describe the treatments to be provided to ensure that you are comfortable with them. Your consent is sought before treatment is provided. If you are uncomfortable, it's important that you let us know immediately, whether that discomfort involves the treatment, draping or any pain you may experience.




Are your team members Registered Massage Therapists?


All team members providing services such as Massage Therapy, Hot Stone massage and Acupuncture are RMTs and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapy.

Booking an appointment


The fastest and easiest way to book an appointment is through our online booking calendar. We do return email inquiries pretty quickly as well and if you're looking to book an appointment it's helpful for us to know the dates and times that work best for you and if you have particular RMT you'd like to be booked with. Most of the time our team is busy doing what we do best so don't be surprised if the phone goes to voicemail when you call. We'll do our best to get back to you within 24 hours.




COVID-19 Changes to Practice


Tthere have been some changes to the way we will be practicing to ensure everyone's safety.

We have worked through a detailed and exhaustive process but are now able to safely reopen the clinic. The new protocols are in place as a result of directives given by the Ministry of Health and College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Here’s what to expect when you make your next appointment.

You will receive an online Pre-Treatment Screening Form 8 to 12 hours before your scheduled appointment. This form is mandatory and will need to be completed before EVERY appointment to secure your session. Screenings will be conducted at each appointment until the Ministry of Health deems it is not longer necessary.

Please arrive alone (unless you require assistance) and as close to your treatment time as possible. We are spreading out appointments to allow for cleaning, disinfection and to reduce contact between clients when possible.

You will be asked to use hand rub/wash your hands upon arrival as well as before you leave. Instructions are posted in the washroom on the most effective way to do this to prevent spreading infection. We will wash our hands and forearms before you arrive, before your treatment and after we're done.

Please arrive wearing a mask if possible (cloth or disposable). If you haven't arrived wearing a mask, we will provide you with a disposable one. You will need to wear a mask for the duration of your time in the clinic. We will be wearing masks as well and may also use a face shield and gloves if necessary. After all of that, which won't take as long as it sounds, we'll talk about your needs and proceed with treatment.

After your treatment and behind the scenes, this is what will be happening:
Linens and blankets will be changed after every treatment.
Anything in the treatment room that isn't changed will be thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and documented as such after every session.
All high contact surfaces outside the treatment room will be cleaned, disinfected and documented as such regularly throughout the day.

We are keeping a log of all persons entering the clinic in order to facilitate contact tracing should anyone test positive for the virus. If at any point you or any of your close contacts develop symptoms please let us know.

We are self-screening before every workday and will cancel appointments if needed.

We will be prioritizing essential/urgent patients first at this time. This does not mean that we will not have time for you. It does mean that the benefits of treatment should outweigh the risks of infection until such time that the Ministry of Health deems the situation less volatile.

We have changed to contactless payment and you now have the following options: pay by login on to your account through our booking software JaneApp or via e-transfer to: ponderamassage@gmail.com

As a courtesy to us, we ask that you pre-pay or pay at the time of the appointment.
